BOSTON (TCN) -- The FBI and Massachusetts State Police have identified the victim in a long-unsolved case.On June 3, the FBI’s Boston office announced that the victim known since 2000 as “Chelsea Jane Doe” has been identified as Tiffany Bradley, 16. FBI Boston’s Cold Case Team worked with state police and used a combination of investigative work, DNA analysis, and genealogy research to solve the case. The Pennsylvania teen was found on Nov. 13, 2000, in a parking lot, WCVB reports. She had been cut in half and was missing her head and her hands, which were later found buried on a beach. Bradley was reported missing on Nov. 8, 2000, and during her last phone call with her family, her voice was trembling, WXIX reports. She promised to call back later, but it was the last time anyone in her family spoke to her.In 2005, Eugene McCollom, who was already behind bars for manslaughter in a 2001 decapitation case, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the unknown victim’s death. McCollom reportedly told investigators that the girl was being trafficked and went by the name “Lisa.” McCollom reportedly strangled Bradley in a motel, dismembered her, and dumped the remains.Special Agent in Charge Tim Docks said, “Tiffany was trafficked across state lines, decapitated, dismembered, and dumped in the back of a parking lot. ... Even though her killer is behind bars, investigators have worked tirelessly to determine who she was, where she came from, and who might still be searching for her.”Bradley’s aunt, Janet Bradley-Knight, said, “I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for not letting my baby be a box on shelf,” per WCVB.MORE: Suffolk County DA press conference 06/03/2026: Identity of woman found nearly 26 years ago (video) — True Crime News‘Extreme atrocity and cruelty’: Mass. man found guilty of strangling college student 40 years ago — True Crime News
