    Former pastor and ‘American Idol’ contestant Caleb Flynn sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife

    COLUMBUS, Ohio (TCN) -- A 40-year-old former “American Idol”  contestant has been sentenced to life in prison for murder after fatally shooting his wife in her sleep in February.

    Police responded to a home on Feb. 16 at about 2:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a burglary and shooting. Caleb Flynn, who had made the call, met police at the door along with his two children, who were not harmed. Flynn’s wife, Ashley Flynn, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WLWT.
