FORT WORTH, Texas (TCN) -- The remains of a 6-year-old boy who went missing in 2022 have been positively identified. In October 2022, Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez was last seen alive but was not reported missing until March 2023 when officers arrived at the home to conduct a welfare check. Investigators were told the child, who was born with mental and physical delays, was living with relatives in Mexico. The following day, the family traveled to India and Rodriguez-Alvarez was not with them.In April 2023, the search for the child was changed to a death investigation. His mother, Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, 41, was charged with capital murder, injury to a child, and abandoning without the intent to return in October 2023.  During their investigation, police learned that Rodriguez-Singh allegedly abused the child and reportedly believed he was evil and had a demon living inside of him. They also learned she had ordered new concrete to be poured for the porch at the home, but an initial search did not uncover any remains.According to the Tarrant County District Attorney, Rodriguez-Singh was located in India and extradited to the United States in August 2025 to face the charges. She was found incompetent to stand trial in April 2026 and has been at a state hospital since then. The DA announced on May 15 that Rodriguez-Alvarez’s remains were recovered at the family’s home and identified using medical records. KDFW reports that the remains were found behind the house.Rodriguez-Singh worshipped a Mexican folk deity called Santa Muerte, the New York Post reports. According to KDFW, Rodriguez-Singh allegedly sent several handwritten letters to the judge presiding over the case alleging mind reading and mind-control devices inside the jail and stating that God knows she is not a bad person. The outlet reports the DA intends to prosecute if Rodriguez-Singh’s competency is restored.According to District Attorney Phil Sorrells, “Noel was a child whose life mattered. He deserved protection, care, and love. Instead, he became the victim of an unthinkable crime.”MORE: Police say missing 6-year-old who mom allegedly called ‘evil’ is most likely dead — True Crime NewsTexas man charged with capital murder a year after son she called ‘evil’ went missing — True Crime News
